International Day of Living Together in Peace 16 May

Living together in peace is all about accepting differences and having the ability to listen to, recognize, respect and appreciate others, as well as living in a peaceful and united way.
The UN General-Assembly, in its resolution 72/130, declared 16 May the International Day of Living Together in Peace, as a means of regularly mobilizing the efforts of the international community to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity. The Day aims to uphold the desire to live and act together, united in differences and diversity, in order to build a sustainable world of peace, solidarity and harmony.
The Day invites countries to further promote reconciliation to help to ensure peace and sustainable development, including by working with communities, faith leaders and other relevant actors, through reconciliatory measures and acts of service and by encouraging forgiveness and compassion among individuals.https://www.un.org/en/events/livinginpeace/index.shtml
On the eve of this day the students of the faculty of Oriental studies DSU took part in a panel discussion devoted to the peaceful international cooperation, namely , Russia, Egypt,Turkey and China. They talked about political and economical spheres, about cultural and language diversity, shared their knowledge about the unique facts and exprerience of unusual travelling to these countries. The meeting was held as a role play, presented by four teams. One country-one team. The idea was developed by the students in the form  of their authentic scenarios for each country.

And what interesting facts about different countries do you know? Share your knowledge with fellow students and explain why one should be tolerant in the epoch of globalization.

Victory Day!🎈🎇

Victory Day is a holiday that commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945. It was first inaugurated in the 15 republics of the Soviet Union, following the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender late in the evening on 8 May 1945 (after midnight, thus on 9 May Moscow Time). The Soviet government announced the victory early on 9 May after the signing ceremony in Berlin. Though the official inauguration occurred in 1945 the holiday became a non-labour day only in 1965 and only in certain Soviet republics.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Day_(9_May)
"WHY SHOULD WE REMEMBER THIS DAY? "(HERE ARE SOME EXTRACTS FROM STUDENTS' COMPOSITIONS)
"This event left a great mark in the history of our country. Why should we pay so much attention to it? The answer is simple:to avoid it in future, 'cause any war where innocent people are killed is terrible! The memory makes it clear for those who live in peacetime..."
"Dozens of countries were drawn into this terrible war. Millions of people died under the bombings, from starvation, in concentration camps. Millions of women became widows, millions of children became orphans. There wasn't a single family in our country which was not touched by the war..."
"Perhaps, the Great Patriotic War was the most horrible in the history of mankind. It is hard to imagine that even 13-14 year old teenagers fought on the front. People sacrificed there lives to save their country from fascism, Hitler's invaders.Let our memory still remember and honor there days..."
The second year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies DSU: Shikhshalilov M., Kazanlieva Kh., Sardarova S.

Good bye, Christmas days! Hello, the Theophany!🙏🎄🌟

Theophany (from Ancient Greek (ἡ) θεοφάνεια theophaneia, meaning "appearance of god") is the appearance of a deity to a human.
This term has been used to refer to appearances of the gods in the ancient Greek and Near Eastern religions. While the Iliad is the earliest source for descriptions of theophanies in the classical tradition/era (and they occur throughout Greek mythology), probably the earliest description of a theophany is in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
The term theophany has acquired a specific usage for Christians and Jews with respect to the Bible: It refers to the manifestation of the Abrahamic God to people; the sensible sign by which his presence is revealed. Only a small number of theophanies are found in the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Old Testament.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theophany
Day after day we are living through this life, marking and celebrating new dates and events. But as before people will be looking forward to the most significant and favourite holiday- Christmas. They will be waiting fo this magic time when wishes come true.Good-bye, Christmas! See you soon!

C-Celebration in the streets. Old year is coming to the end.
H-Have you ever had the feeling that everything is possible?
R- Really, we can believe in it at this magic New Year's night!
I-It may seem naive a little, but a lot of people wait for the New Year as a chance to begin a new life: to give up smoking, to lose weight, to find a good job and so on.In that case the New Year night fo them is not just a reason to have fun but moreover, the night of inspiration and of" course they hope to get some magic that night.
S-Something fabulous will happen.
T- Tonight's December thirty-first.
M - Maybe the next year will be even better, full of pleasure, joy and fun.
A-Although our mind understands that really nothing will change, but at the same time our own inner voice inspire us that everything will be fine.
S-So we must dream while we are still alive (because there is no life without dreams). An the New Yera is a good reason to make new wishes.

History of International Thank-You Day

Картинки по запросу international thank you day 2019

International Thank-You Day is an annual celebration observed on January 11th of every year. Often we forget to tell a thank you as is taken for granted. It is essential to show the gratitude from the bottom of the heart to those who made your life better and happier. The good manners of a person will be shown in the sense of words he/she uses. Of course, some say a thank you out of duty and not from the heart. As to mark the importance of telling a thank you, International Thank-You Day has been established. With this celebration Day in the calendar, one can understand how much a thank you mean. Never hesitate to utter this simple words which give more of sense. The history, origin, and the founder of International Thank-You Day are unknown. There is no mention regarding the year since this day has been celebrated. There is a mention that this Day has been created by some greeting card companies to promote the sale of greeting cards. However, this seems to be less appealing. Whatever the reason be, saying a thank you needs to be celebrated. Not every one of us will think of the ones who put themselves directly or indirectly in working for us. Few acknowledge the work of others by saying a thank you. For others, it is a Day that reminds us to be grateful for those who do things for you.
